Tsinghua University Graduate Falls Victim to Telecom Fraud for Nearly 45 Days
A graduate from Tsinghua University, identified as Shi, encountered telecom fraud during his study abroad. The fraudsters impersonated internet police and Interpol agents, inducing him to cooperate with a so-called investigation, which lasted nearly 45 days. During this period, Shi was under 24-hour surveillance, and the fraudsters coerced him into purchasing virtual currency and transferring it to designated accounts. They also demanded that he deceive his family into providing funds for the so-called case. Shi reminds everyone to pay attention to anti-fraud campaigns and take them seriously, as scammers exploit time and information gaps to set traps.
