The Deputy Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury of Hong Kong, Chen Haolian, stated at a meeting of the Legislative Council's Financial Affairs Committee that Hong Kong will optimize the tax system for funds, single family offices, and associated rights, expanding the scope of the tax exemption system to cover larger single investor funds and more eligible investments, including loans, private debt investments, digital assets, and precious metals. The relevant amendment bill will be implemented starting from the 2025/26 tax year after approval.
