US Senators Accuse X of Favoring Polymarket
Democratic senators in the United States have accused the social media platform X of giving preferential treatment to the prediction market Polymarket. Nevada Democratic Senator Catherine Cortez Masto, California Democratic Senator Adam Schiff, Nevada Democratic Senator Jacky Rosen, and Connecticut Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal pointed out in a joint letter that X allows users to report ads, but users cannot select a reporting option when reporting Polymarket ads, while other ads such as Kalshi do not have this issue. The letter included screenshots questioning whether X is attempting to provide Polymarket with an unfair competitive advantage that could benefit the U.S. president and his family. Donald Trump Jr. has invested in Polymarket and serves as an advisor.
