U.S. election results may delay Clarity Act passage
Democratic wins in both chambers of Congress may delay the Clarity Act and increase scrutiny on the cryptocurrency industry, according to Bitget Wallet analyst Lacie Zhang. Zhang stated that there would be no immediate effect on existing regulations as federal agencies remain under the Trump administration. The election outcome is expected to have limited short-term impact on retail crypto investors and will likely affect the pace of legislation. Zhang indicated that the Clarity Act is unlikely to pass in its current form during the current congressional session or after Democrats take the majority in January, noting that further compromises on investor protection and ethics provisions would be necessary for the bill to advance.
