Tom Lee Predicts AI Bubble Peak in 2033 with 30 Trillion Spending
Tom Lee, co-founder of Fundstrat Global Advisors, states the AI bubble is years away, estimating AI spending at 30 trillion dollars, akin to the 1990s internet expansion, with a peak around 2033. Speaking at TOKEN2049 Singapore, Lee contrasts his view with Ray Dalio, founder of Bridgewater Associates, who labels AI a classic bubble. Lee argues that widespread bubble discussions may indicate otherwise. He notes that many current fund managers have not experienced previous market bubbles, stating, 'I've never seen a bubble when everyone thinks it's a bubble.' Lee anchors his predictions on costs, estimating the internet and mobile network buildout at about 35 trillion dollars in 2026 dollars, while AI infrastructure spending is projected at 30 trillion dollars. In contrast, McKinsey estimated that AI data centers would need 5.2 trillion dollars in investment by 2030. Lee compares the current AI phase to 1997, suggesting that wireless technology grew exponentially for 25 years, with stock peaks occurring a decade in, leading him to predict 2033 as the peak year. He also mentions that approximately 7 trillion dollars in new liquid assets enter the market annually, which could support AI spending. Dalio's concerns focus on rising borrowing costs, suggesting that as rates increase, profit holders may cash out, potentially leading to a market bubble burst. The two experts differ on financing perspectives, with Lee viewing AI spending as early-cycle investment, while Dalio warns that debt could trigger a market collapse.

AI Policy Risk Sparks Selloff, BTC Breaks $76K | WEEX Weekly Recap (2026.11.02-11.06)
The market quickly shifted from post-election risk recovery to AI policy risk and data-center restriction pricing. After Democrats gained a clear seat advantage in the midterms, risk assets first traded lower uncertainty, but data-center limits, tighter AI regulation risk, and tech valuation pressure became the new selloff triggers. Thursday’s tech and AI-chain decline pulled BTC below $76,000, moving the market from earnings trades into a second-wave volatility window.
