Digital asset hedge fund Room40 Capital is returning all external funds and will instead manage its own capital along with that of an institutional partner, expanding its investment strategy from cryptocurrencies and digital assets to macro trading. Former Moore Capital Management portfolio manager Paul Yablon stated that the $6.3 billion hack incident at Binance highlights the security challenges in the crypto industry and clarified that Room40 Capital does not hold any assets from Binance. This exit is primarily due to an asymmetric risk-reward ratio, as investment opportunities in cryptocurrencies have become scarce. Sources revealed that Paul Yablon will return to Moore Capital as a macro portfolio manager.
