Jang Dong-hyuk Criticizes Government's Cryptocurrency Tax Policy
Jang Dong-hyuk, the leader of the People Power Party, criticized the government's and the Democratic Party's cryptocurrency tax policy, stating that it is creating uncertainty in the market. At a policy academy held in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul on the 4th, Jang said, "The government announced a month ago that it would proceed with the tax as planned, but the Democratic Party is trying to postpone it due to the backlash from young people." He pointed out, "The government and the party are not coordinating and are creating only uncertainty in the market." He also emphasized that the People Power Party has opposed the taxation of digital assets, stating, "The People Power Party has been preparing to create a market ecosystem by proposing a law on the Korean won stablecoin last year and has opposed collecting taxes without preparation." Jang criticized the government's legislative push regarding digital assets, saying, "The market for the Korean won stablecoin promised by President Lee Jae-myung has yet to see any direction from the government." He stressed that while the ruling party quickly processes political bills, it is failing to properly discuss the Digital Asset Basic Law, adding, "We should not trust the government and the ruling party regarding the discussion of the Digital Asset Basic Law; we must lead it responsibly ourselves."

AI Policy Risk Sparks Selloff, BTC Breaks $76K | WEEX Weekly Recap (2026.11.02-11.06)
The market quickly shifted from post-election risk recovery to AI policy risk and data-center restriction pricing. After Democrats gained a clear seat advantage in the midterms, risk assets first traded lower uncertainty, but data-center limits, tighter AI regulation risk, and tech valuation pressure became the new selloff triggers. Thursday’s tech and AI-chain decline pulled BTC below $76,000, moving the market from earnings trades into a second-wave volatility window.
