Michael Burry Updates Holdings, Increases Long and Short Positions in Nvidia, Short Positions Exceed 21%
On August 27, Michael Burry disclosed his latest holdings, buying long positions in Nvidia (NVDA) as a hedge while also increasing his short positions in the company. Burry has also added to his short positions in Oracle (ORCL), Palantir (PLTR), Nebius (NBIS), and Caterpillar (CAT). On the long side, Burry increased his stake in Birkenstock (BIRK) in the mid-$30 range and added to his position in Freddie Mac (FMCC) in the mid-$5 range. Burry stated that his short positions now account for over 21% of his portfolio, not including put options. He noted that the size of the put option positions is difficult to quantify simply, as the relevant options are typically deep out-of-the-money and far from expiration, representing an asymmetric, high-leverage directional strategy, but currently have low market value.
