Revolut Sets Zhiyu GLM as Default AI Programming Model
Revolut has designated Zhiyu GLM as the default AI programming model for approximately 2,000 engineers, replacing tools like Claude Code and Codex. David Abitbol, head of AI operations at Revolut, stated that the company previously set a monthly limit of $300 per person for Claude Code, but the efficiency gains were limited. Starting in April this year, the company began deploying GLM in-house, providing engineers with unlimited tokens. Currently, Revolut uses about 56 NVIDIA B200s to run GLM 5.3, with a comprehensive cost of approximately $0.30 per million tokens, resulting in bills that are only one-tenth of what was incurred when using Anthropic and OpenAI. Internal statistics show that engineers' coding time metrics have improved by about 60%, and the cycle time from task handover to delivery has improved by about 70%. With tokens no longer limited, engineers have started to extensively use AI to search internal documents, process Jira tickets, and find requirement specifications in Slack, allowing AI to expand from a few complex tasks to the entire R&D process.
