MoneyGram Joins XDC Network as Institutional Validator
United States, 19th October 2026: MoneyGram, one of the world's leading global payments networks, has joined XDC Network as an institutional validator.
By operating a validator node, MoneyGram will participate directly in XDC Network's consensus infrastructure, helping validate transactions and support the security and resilience of a network built for payments, trade finance and real-world assets.
Founded over 85 years ago, MoneyGram moves money for around 60 million active customers through nearly 500,000 retail locations across more than 200 countries and territories. In June 2026, the company launched MGUSD, its own U.S. dollar stablecoin, embedded in the MoneyGram app as the foundation for a growing suite of financial services.
"The next wave of payments will not only be initiated by people but increasingly by AI agents transacting on their behalf, and that demands networks that are trustworthy, fast and secure, " said Ritesh Kakkad, Co-Founder, XDC Network. "That trust comes from who stands behind the infrastructure. Every transaction on XDC is secured by our validators, and each institution that joins reinforces the infrastructure on which the future of global payments will be built."
Added Chen Shanlong, Chief Partnerships Officer, XDC Network, "Running a validator node gives MoneyGram and other likeminded financial institutions a direct role in network governance and the opportunity to shape the future of onchain payments."
MoneyGram's move reflects a broader shift among established payments companies, which are moving from piloting stablecoins to building them into the core of their operations.
"MoneyGram has spent the past several years integrating blockchain into our payment infrastructure," said Luke Tuttle, Chief Product and Technology Officer, MoneyGram. "By joining XDC Network as a validator, we're contributing directly to the infrastructure supporting the network while continuing to build toward more open, interoperable ways to move money globally."
MoneyGram joins a validator set that already includes SBI Holdings, Amber Premium, Animoca Brands, CertiK, Clear Street, Cointelegraph Decentralization Guardians, Deutsche Telekom, HashKey Cloud, Hex Trust, NTT DOCOMO Global, Republic and Taurus among other regulated institutions spread across Asia, the Middle East, Europe and North America. With a global payments network now in the set, XDC Network's roster increasingly reflects the companies that move money in the real economy, not only those building for digital assets.

AI Policy Risk Sparks Selloff, BTC Breaks $76K | WEEX Weekly Recap (2026.11.02-11.06)
The market quickly shifted from post-election risk recovery to AI policy risk and data-center restriction pricing. After Democrats gained a clear seat advantage in the midterms, risk assets first traded lower uncertainty, but data-center limits, tighter AI regulation risk, and tech valuation pressure became the new selloff triggers. Thursday’s tech and AI-chain decline pulled BTC below $76,000, moving the market from earnings trades into a second-wave volatility window.
