Lighter Launches EVM Development Network in Collaboration with Axiom
Lighter launched the Lighter EVM development network (devnet) on October 16, in collaboration with Axiom. This network is an EVM-equivalent Rollup, driven by OpenVM, and runs in parallel with Lighter Core. Designed to settle through a single ZK proof to Ethereum, developers can deploy contracts using Foundry, Hardhat, Viem, and Ethers, and access account, balance, position, order, and market data from Lighter Core. It supports placing, modifying, and canceling orders via smart contracts, and allows asset transfers between devnet L1, Lighter Core, and Lighter EVM. Lighter is currently opening in batches and plans to fully open to all developers in the coming weeks.
