ENS Community Launches Voting for Governor Nexus Update Proposal
The ENS community has opened voting for the "Governor Nexus Update" proposal, which will end on November 3. The proposal suggests that the DAO approve the Governor Nexus update built on OpenZeppelin v5.6.1, aimed at addressing risks identified in the governance security assessment. If the vote passes, MetaGov will fund an external audit and submit an executable migration proposal. The main changes proposed include: setting voting delays based on proposal type (2 days for migration proposals); allowing a maximum of 2 active proposals per proposer (adjustable range of 1-10); enabling voters to re-vote before the deadline; extending the voting period by 48 hours if a proposal flips from failure to success in the last 24 hours; introducing three proposal types: Standard / Optimistic (passes unless opposed by 500,000 ENS) / Bond (requires a 1,000 ENS deposit); and supporting batch voting and ERC-1271 signatures.
