Anthropic IPO Filing Shows Q3 Revenue of $17 Billion, Nine-Month Revenue of $33.2 Billion, Net Loss of $104.039 Billion
Artificial intelligence company Anthropic has submitted a revised IPO prospectus (S-1/A) to the SEC. The document reveals that revenue for the third quarter of 2026 reached $17 billion, with total revenue for the first nine months amounting to $33.242 billion. The net loss surged to $104.039 billion due to changes in the fair value of convertible notes, although operating losses have significantly narrowed to approximately $1.26 billion. The prospectus disclosed that Anthropic's revenue grew from nearly zero at the beginning of commercialization in 2023 to about $4.585 billion for the full year of 2025, and then to $33.2 billion in the first nine months of 2026. The third quarter revenue of $17 billion continues the strong momentum from the first half, which was approximately $16.3 billion. The net revenue retention rate (NRR) is around 900%, indicating rapid expansion in existing customer spending. The company's cash and short-term investments total approximately $131.9 billion, demonstrating strong financing capability, but commitments related to computing power and infrastructure amount to about $895.4 billion, with approximately $69.8 billion due in the next 12 months, highlighting capital intensity and long-term lock-in risks. Of the $104.039 billion net loss over nine months, about $94.3 billion stems from changes in the fair value of convertible notes, derivative liabilities, and other non-cash accounting expenses.
