Amazon AWS CEO Dismisses AI Bubble Concerns, Confident in Investment Expansion
Amazon Web Services (AWS) CEO Matt Garman has expressed confidence in making large-scale investments in AI infrastructure. He stated that the demand from enterprise customers supports the notion that even if some AI companies fail, the growth foundation of the cloud business will remain intact. CEO Garman emphasized a diversified investment strategy that does not rely on specific customers, explaining that most of the current usage is occurring in core computing, storage, and inference. AWS's order backlog reached approximately $500 billion by the end of the second quarter of this year. He claimed that enterprise customers are confirming positive returns on investment based on the performance and cost of AI technologies, likening the AI investment market to venture capital investments. However, there is growing market caution regarding AI investments, with stock prices of major semiconductor companies like NVIDIA and AMD reaching all-time highs, raising concerns about the concentration of investments in tech stocks. Ray Dalio warned that the speculative frenzy surrounding AI is nearing its peak, and the actual revenue-generating capabilities of AI companies have become a key issue.

The market quickly shifted from post-election risk recovery to AI policy risk and data-center restriction pricing. After Democrats gained a clear seat advantage in the midterms, risk assets first traded lower uncertainty, but data-center limits, tighter AI regulation risk, and tech valuation pressure became the new selloff triggers. Thursday’s tech and AI-chain decline pulled BTC below $76,000, moving the market from earnings trades into a second-wave volatility window.
